Weave Drops Bombshell

Bad news for the Ressies as one of the seasons key performers so far, Phil Littlewood let slip that he will be unavailable from 4th – 26th October due to holiday and social commitments. The Weave has performed excellently (in at least 3 positions a game!) so far and will be a big miss from the squad, especially with skipper Jason Owen currently AWOL after a heavy drinking session on Sunday.
It is however a good opportunity for some of the squad members to step into the starting line up and make a real claim for the (XL) shirt. Fraser Gascoyne will also be missing for the county cup trip to Overstone on 4th October which will leave the gaffer with a selection headache. There is also the possibility that the signing on book will be reopened with a number of possible targets currently plying their trade for Wootton being identified.

Journeyman footballer Phil Littlewood will see out his long and distinguished career after signing on for the reserves for the coming season. Littlewood’s career has seen him play for various clubs including local rivals Squirrels and also Saturday team Duston Utd.
“The Weave” as he is affectionitely known can play either left back or centre half and has been known to do the odd stint in the middle of the park. His “competitive” nature can sometimes see him get into trouble with referees and opposition players alike but he has a great engine and will add experience and know how to the reserves defence.
He once scored a winning goal at ixfields with his right peg, the only time he has ever kicked the ball forward with his right foot. Phil will be a valuable addition to the reserves this year.
