Reserve Skipper Hit by Setback Before Season Begins

Reserve team skipper Leighton “Beighton Badams” Adams was today hit with the news that the fans have been dreading – he will miss most of the season with a cruciate ligament injury. 33 year old Adams was a key part of the convoluted management structures plans for the coming season and will now have to concentrate on his off the field duties.

Talking to the clubs official website he said “I was always going to miss the start of the season due to a harsh sending off from the sidelines last term, but this has come as a real blow. I was looking forward to getting out on the park and showing everyone what I’m made of after a couple of years warming the bench for the first team. I would however, like to state in writing that I will be attending every match, and (leg permitting) running the line”.

What a captain, what a player, what a man!

I’m sure all at Northampton United, Urban Tiger, and Stringfellows wish him a speedy recovery.
